Climate change is driving a new way of thinking about heating in the UK, and Cotswold Energy Group are the leading domestic and commercial heat pump provider in the South West. With experience managing heating systems from 5kW to 2mW- we are qualified, capable and set up to deliver renewable heating systems from leading manufacturers such as NIBE, CTC, Dimplex, Mitsubishi & others.

We're experienced at deploying open and closed loop borehole systems and often work with a mix of various heat distribution methods from fan coil, radiator, UFH & others.

Air Source Heat Pump Service/Breakdown Engineer

The role will entail visiting customers’ houses to service air source heat pumps and attend ASHP related breakdowns. With this in mind, it is imperative that the right candidate should pride themselves on customer service and professionalism. Working with a helpful back-office team, the successful candidate should be able to liaise with the office and technical based team. The candidate requires experience in ASHP related breakdowns, fault finding and servicing. The candidate may be asked to help and assist with the installation team from time to time.

What you’ll do:
  • Liaising with office staff to ensure adequate resource and materials are in place for successful repair of ASHP’s and associated components.

About the role:

  • Reporting to the Finance Director and Finance Manager. This role encompasses a range of financial tasks including:
  • Checking, coding and processing purchase invoices into Xero accounting software
  • Ensuring invoices are allocated correctly to specific jobs using purchase order system
  • Sending out supplier remittances
  • Checking, coding and processing staff expenses
  • Processing of debit and credit card receipts and reconciling against statements
  • Purchasing adhoc consumables for the business
  • Maintaining fuel analysis records
  • Creating purchase orders against jobs when requested
  • Raising of sales ledger invoices for approval
  • Sending customer statements and chasing up debt

Key Qualifications and experience:
  • Minimum of 2+ years accounting experience

  • Knowledge of Xero, Dext and Salesforce is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.

Asbestos Surveyor

As part of our growth and our continual focus on improvement and safety we are looking to recruit the role of an Asbestos Surveyor.

You will be carrying out surveys on Domestic and Commercial properties these will include both Management and Refurbishment & Demolition surveys. The role will be based out of our Stonehouse office however travel across the country to the relevant sites will be required.

You will be provided with a suitable works vehicle for the activities.

What you’ll do:
  • Management, Refurbishment & Demolition Surveys on various sites
  • To provide asbestos analytical services, including air monitoring, fibre counting and bulk sample analysis. To provide advice to team member following the survey
  • To be up to date with asbestos legislation, guidance and industry best practice including UKAS accreditation and quality management arrangements
  • To be up to date with relevant legislation including especially CAR 2012
  • To support the business by working flexibly and responsively from the company’s office or sites as required
  • To take personal responsibility for maintaining technical expertise and an awareness of current issues in the sector – The company will support you and cover costs of ongoing training.
  • To meet all legal obligations required to be met by the company as a provider of asbestos related services and an employer
  • To proactively engage in the training and development provided by the company
Key Qualifications and experience:
  • The ideal candidate with have at least 2 years experience within an Asbestos surveying role or similar.
  • Hold their BOHS P402 Qualification in Surveying and Sampling strategies for Asbestos in buildings
  • Hold their BOHS P403 Qualification in Asbestos Fibre counting
  • UKATA Certification
  • (Preferred) Hold their BOHS P404 Qualification in Clearance testing and the requirements of a certificate of reoccupation.
  • (Preferred) Hold their BOHS P405 Qualification in management of asbestos in buildings (Including Asbestos Removal)
  • CSCS Card or partner card scheme.

Quantity Surveyor (Building Services)

Due to growth within the commercial team we are looking to bring in a Quantity Surveyor to support the pre-construction and construction elements of our projects. You will be working across multiple projects ranging from single large domestic residences to medium size commercial projects with an M&E value of up to 5M. We work as both a principal contractor and as a contractor. You will be working with onboarding Sub-contractors and clients and administering the contracts throughout the project. You will work closely with the Commercial Manager and Internal project management team.

We are looking for a quantity surveyor who is experienced within the Building Services or construction sector. As a company we work in a collaborative way with our clients and sub-contractors and we are looking for someone who understands the importance of the contractual requirements whilst also
ensuring as sustainable future.

We anticipate this team growing over the next year so looking for someone who wants to have an input on the development of the QS team.

What you’ll do
  • Responsible for the contractual onboarding of clients and Contractors.
  • Management of applications and valuations.
  • Management of variation process
  • Work closely with the Commercial Manager on cost management.
  • Produce financial statements on projects.
Essential Requirements
  • Hold MRICS or AssocRICS and Quantity surveying degree or alternative qualification

This is a Mechanical installation management position. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of our Commercial projects along with the management of the engineering team including the existing site leads and contracts manager. This is a management position and will require co-ordination with clients, production of site reports and will be a blend of office and site activities.

The projects that we deal with are varied and can range from High end residential developments to Police stations and leisure centers. This role offers a large amount of variety.

Due to growth within the commercial sector, we are looking for a principal designer to oversee the design of our commercial projects. You will have the day-to-day responsibility of the design team and will be a key part in the continued growth and development of the company. The role will be working on projects for their entire duration from the initial conceptual stage through to handover. In addition to the design element you will work with the Technical Manager on devising an effective Design Management Process.

We are looking for an experienced Head of Design/Principle Designer who is practiced in managing the design process from conceptual stage. You will be responsible for identifying and designing solutions based on the building and clients requirements. We are looking for someone who is passionate about design and reducing energy consumption. The ideal candidate will have experience with renewable technologies along with carrying out RIBA stages 4-6.

What you’ll do
  • Responsible for the design and preparing information ready for construction.
  • Technical Supplier liaison
  • Production of feasibility and technical reports to justify selections.
  • Co-ordination with CAD engineers to produce suitable drawings.
  • Programming of Design works.
  • Accurate and up to date document control
  • Supporting procurement and producing technical submissions
  • Supporting production of O&M manuals.
  • Visiting site as necessary and carrying out site surveys as necessary to ascertain relevant information to ensure accuracy.
Essential requirements
  • Experience within the renewables or Building Services Sector.
  • Proven track record in Design of commercial buildings.
  • Excellent communication skills verbally and written
  • Good IT skills – Experience in Autodesk suite and IES preferable.
  • Understanding of the wider construction industry would be advantageous especially requirements under CDM2015.
