We are looking for a talented M&E Design Manager to lead our design function. The role entails managing a small but growing team of mechanical and electrical engineers as well as carrying out design work when needed. The role is focused primarily on the commercial heat pump business but also involves supporting the solar and domestic operations where necessary. This is a role based in our HQ in Stonehouse and is a fantastic opportunity for an M&E Design Manager to get involved in a leading business within one of the fastest growing sectors in the UK. Please note this is working with systems design, rather than product design.
Role & Responsibilities:
· Experienced M&E Design Manager working on commercial heat pump and building services projects.
· Management of a small team of designers.
· Take responsibility for delivering all design activities within the business, including:
· Producing M&E technical drawings and schematics.
· Specifying equipment such as heat pumps, circulation pumps and piping.
· Power and control system design.
· 2D and 3D CAD modelling.
· Carrying out site surveys.
· Reviewing site installations to ensure conformance to design and specifications.
· Drive improvements in design standards, procedures and quality.
· Implement advances in design technologies used to improve the design offering.
Knowledge & Experience:
· Minimum HND qualified engineer (ideally mechanical).
· At least 3 years of experience in design within the building services industry.
· People management experience desirable but not essential.
· Experience with heat pumps desirable but not essential.
· 2D and/or 3D CAD experience.
