Solar PV Roofer
Solar PV Roofer

Cotswold Energy Group is a leading provider of innovative energy solutions based in Stonehouse. We are committed to sustainability and excellence, and we’re looking for a dedicated Solar PV Roofer to join our dynamic Solar Installation Team.

As a Solar PV Roofer with Cotswold Energy Group, you will play a critical role in supporting our solar installation projects. You will work closely with our experienced solar installation team to ensure that roofing systems are safely and efficiently prepared and maintained to support solar panel installations. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Roof Preparation: Inspect and prepare roofs for solar panel installations, including cleaning, repairing, and reinforcing roofing structures as needed.
  • Installation Support: Assist in the installation of solar panel mounting systems, ensuring secure and precise placement according to engineering specifications.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on roofing systems to ensure long-term durability and functionality.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that safety practices are followed.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with the solar installation team and other tradespeople to complete projects on time and to the highest standards.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients in a professional manner when required, addressing any questions or concerns regarding roofing work.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered during installations or repairs.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Roofer, with a solid understanding of roofing materials, techniques, and best practices.
  • Previous experience working with solar installation teams or renewable energy systems is highly desirable.
  • CSCS and DBS are desirable but not essential.
  • Proficiency in using roofing tools and equipment, with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation plans.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Relevant roofing qualifications or certifications are preferred.
  • A valid driving license and the ability to travel to various job sites as required.

We are looking for a talented M&E Design Manager to lead our design function. The role entails managing a small but growing team of mechanical and electrical engineers as well as carrying out design work when needed. The role is focused primarily on the commercial heat pump business but also involves supporting the solar and domestic operations where necessary. This is a role based in our HQ in Stonehouse and is a fantastic opportunity for an M&E Design Manager to get involved in a leading business within one of the fastest growing sectors in the UK. Please note this is working with systems design, rather than product design.

Role & Responsibilities:

· Experienced M&E Design Manager working on commercial heat pump and building services projects.

· Management of a small team of designers.

· Take responsibility for delivering all design activities within the business, including:

· Producing M&E technical drawings and schematics.

· Specifying equipment such as heat pumps, circulation pumps and piping.

· Power and control system design.

· 2D and 3D CAD modelling.

· Carrying out site surveys.

· Reviewing site installations to ensure conformance to design and specifications.

· Drive improvements in design standards, procedures and quality.

· Implement advances in design technologies used to improve the design offering.

Knowledge & Experience:

· Minimum HND qualified engineer (ideally mechanical).

· At least 3 years of experience in design within the building services industry.

· People management experience desirable but not essential.

· Experience with heat pumps desirable but not essential.

· 2D and/or 3D CAD experience.

Health and Safety Advisor
We are looking for a a NEBOSH (and possibly SMSTS/CSCS) qualified Health and Safety Advisor to ensure we are meeting our compliance and statutory obligations, and also refine and manage processes. This is a pivotal role in our exciting growth phase and plays an important part in the over success of the Group.
Health and Safety Advisor

The Role:

Primary responsibilities will include:

- Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations adhere to and are regularly reviewed, updated, and communicated as required.

- Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and welfare at work.

- Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.

- Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated, and recommended improvements implemented.

- Ensure that planned and ad hoc safety inspections are conducted, including field visits to installers, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly completed & recorded, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are monitored and reviewed, and employees are aware of their responsibilities.

- Ensure awareness and adherence to all company Covid compliance procedures.

- Establish and maintain a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits, and checks.

- Consult with external health & safety consultants as required for the provision of training programmes and health and safety services.

- Ensure that all agreed action points and Utility funding partner requests are completed within deadlines.

- Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business with recommendations.

- Provide reports to the management group on relevant health and safety activities as may be required.

- Participate in monthly meetings when required to report on relevant health & safety matters in operations and all other parts of the business where required.

- Consult with suppliers i.e., Insurers, solicitors etc and on all H&S/training matters.

We are looking for:

- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

- Ensure you have a supportive/approachable style.

- Ability to work independently and part of a team.

- Full UK driving licence.

- Ability to understand complex information and present it simply.

- Able to assess and initiate things independently.

We're experienced at deploying open and closed loop borehole systems and often work with a mix of various heat distribution methods from fan coil, radiator, UFH & others.

Due to growth within the commercial team we are looking to bring in a Quantity Surveyor to support the pre-construction and construction elements of our projects.
Air Source Heat Pump Service/Breakdown Engineer

The role will entail visiting customers’ houses to service air source heat pumps and attend ASHP related breakdowns. With this in mind, it is imperative that the right candidate should pride themselves on customer service and professionalism. Working with a helpful back-office team, the successful candidate should be able to liaise with the office and technical based team. The candidate requires experience in ASHP related breakdowns, fault finding and servicing. The candidate may be asked to help and assist with the installation team from time to time.

What you’ll do:
  • Liaising with office staff to ensure adequate resource and materials are in place for successful repair of ASHP’s and associated components.
  • Servicing of ASHP’s
  • Ensuring necessary paperwork have been filled out and signed by the customer.
  • Commitment to the use of best practice, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
  • Ensuring all photographic and paperwork requirements are completed for each job.
