Nick and Kay moved to Moreton-in-Marsh in 2018 and quickly realised that they were keen to do their bit for climate change in the new home. Already electric car drivers they were committed to ensuring that the carbon footprint from their heating system was reduced as significantly as possible. They contacted Cotswold Energy Group who arranged for an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) and Heat Loss Calculation survey to be carried out in order to design a bespoke renewable heating system.
The property is a 4 bedroom detached house built within the last 60 years with radiators. The most suitable location for the hot water cylinder was the attic and it connects to the heat pump which is sited on the side wall of the property.
Nick and Kay’s investment will be fully recouped within 7 years thanks to the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive scheme coupled with savings made on their annual running costs in comparison to gas.
